The United States Of Scapegoats

Every 4 years we elect a scapegoat. It's like we need a ball to toss back and forth over the net that sits between our 2 political parties. Comedian Lewis Black has put it best: What's worse than a Republican or Democrat? The 2 of them "working" together.
And that always alleviates a major percentage of the population from responsibility of blame. Convenient, sure. But that allows U.S. citizens to sidestep the required humility that is needed to grow as a nation of individuals. Why? Because of our uncanny ability to argue. Because of our ability to use anecdotes and sarcasm to avoid thinking on a scale that includes 7 billion people. Because most everyone is broke and scrambling to survive, resulting in a desperate anger which can be manipulated by the wealthy. Because a 2 party system is a perfect arena for this continuum. Because our attention span can't handle anything more than 140 words. Because we simply don't realize the true power of what "99%" actually means. Because we have figured out that instead of tolerance and patience, a quick FUCK YOU backed by a kill shot is always going to be the solution.
We know all this shit, yet for some reason we still can't seem to do anything except wait for someone to become a martyr/sacrifice for our inability to take individual responsibility for our future.
I don't have any answers either. And I am just as guilty as everybody.

In fact all I am really saying is that I wrote a song about this on going epidemic (which has been a part of human existence since the Roman Empire) because just like you...I really don't want to be the next martyr/sacrificial lamb either.
Who in their right mind would dare try and resolve a nation of people who's religion is money? That's what the fuck Jesus was tryna tell you greedy dipshit politican/bankers in the first fucking place. And I am buddhist and can see this clearly. WTF?!
So while some of you are waiting for that particular person to arrive with the magic solution...here is a song you can bug out to.

Pay no attention to the fool on the hill trying to hide his disguise
Haze and smoke behind the mirrors as the years burn red in your eyes
Pass that buck like a flame and we'll know who to blame next time
Ask that man in the hot seat sweatin' through the cracks of his mind
We got a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow
So take your problems on down for the man with the two horned crown
We got him now! We got him now yeah...we got a scapegoat now
We got him now yeah!
Bend right over til your back starts to break from the weight in your arms
Send your burdens to the top because they never seem to do him harm
He was made to take a punch we just never had a hunch who he was
See him wobble back and forth at the podium of promises
We got a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow
So take your problems on down for the man with the two horned crown
We got him now! We got him now yeah...we got a scapegoat now
We got him now yeah!
Hold your laughter at the bank til you're sure that you're walking away
Spend your money on a steak while you talk about the good old days
Who could have guessed at the price that you're payin' for your gasoline
But you'll never have to think twice if you don't have a clue what it means
To have a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow
So take your problems on down for the man with the two horned crown
We got him now! We got him now yeah...we got a scapegoat now
We got him now yeah!

We Got A Scapegoat Now!

President?
Politics?
Elections?

It' All About Money

If you ever have any questions about politics, just read The Star Bellied Sneetches by Dr. Suess. You will learn at the end of the story how politics work. Every politician I have ever heard about has reminds me of Sylvester Monkey McBean. You know, the guy who divided and conquered those poor Sneetches because of their inability to sort out their differences on their own.
As we draw nearer to the 2012 election, try to understand that no matter who we vote for...it's all about money.

Scapegoat

Every 4 years we elect a person to seek out new ways to bring us together as a nation of divided political parties.
In that 4 years we expect this person to find solutions to problems that we have been creating for hundreds of years. If not thousands.
In just 4 years we accumulate enough mistakes and burdens to pass on to the next elected CEO of this nation. To boldly blame this person for the problems we cannot solve individually.
Technology has allowed me to post this demo'd song for anyone to hear. Ironically the same technology allows us all to point our fingers at someone who voluntarily signed himself up to be our very own scapegoat...which again, ironically, points that same finger back at ourselves.

Pay no attention to the fool on the hill trying to hide his disguise
Haze and smoke behind the mirrors as the years burn red in your eyes
Pass that buck like a flame and we'll know who to blame this time
Ask that man in the hot seat sweatin' through the cracks of his mind

We got a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow
So take your problems on down to the man with the two horned crown
We got him now...we got a scapegoat now...we got him now!

Bend right over til your back starts to break from the weight in your arms
Send your burdens to the top because they never seem to cause him harm
He was made to take a punch we just never had a hunch who he was
See him wobble back and forth at the podium of promises

We got a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow
So take your problems on down to the man with the two horned crown
We got him now...we got a scapegoat now...we got him now!

Hold your laughter at the bank til you're sure that you're walking away
Throw your money on a steak while you talk about the good old days
Who could have guessed at the price that you're payin' for your gasoline
But you'll never have to think twice if you don't have a clue what it means

To have a scapegoat now, we knew he'd turn up somehow

Huckabee SCHMUCKABEE

The 2008 Republican presidential candidate suggested during his radio show, "The Huckabee Report," on Thursday that, under President Obama's health care plan, Kennedy would have been told to "go home to take pain pills and die" during his last year of life.

...and die?

What excellent timing Mr. Huckabee has, eh? And what a way with words.

To Demonize not just one political figure (the prez), but also Ted Kennedy. Sure, Obama said taking pain pills instead of expensive medical care. BUT TED KENNEDY IS SOMEONE WHO CAN AFFORD HEALTHCARE! AND STILL TRYING TO GET HEALTHCARE FOR EVERYONE! Obama's point about a lesser alternative was aimed at people who cannot afford health insurance and/or health care. Schmuckabee is yet another American who'd rather watch 20,000 people die a year than think of a remedy.

That's right.

The statistic for people who die every year is 20,000. These are people who simply can't afford health insurance and are refused medical attention. And just like a typical republican conservative speaker, Schmuckabee says something so far out and ridiculous that it makes your head spin in the attempt to find the logic and sense. And while we are busy trying to locate the sense in the god awful statement, they use it as a decoy to start a ponzi scheme or a war, or something...while we are caught arguing over schematics.

Which we learned the hard way from 200 to 2008. How about no more of this crap?

This song I specifically wrote in response to guys like Schmuckabee.

Pass the responsibility buck...

Remember the telephone game?
You don't?

How old ARE you?

Anyway...
It's where you get a line of people together. The more the better. At one end a person says a message to pass along to the next person. By the time the message gets to the other end, it's a mangled, warped unreasonable facsimile of what it started out as. How does ONE man do this by him self?! Bush has been playing the worlds smallest telephone game with his own self. I thought it was impossible, even theoretically, but that man plays a mean game of uniphone, don't he?
And now after 8 years of it...the next guy is going to have to do some serious deciphering of the mess that's left behind. That's what they're talking about in this sfgate.com article today.
(sigh)
It will be nice to hear Obama say ANYTHING at ANY speech
after what Bush has conditioned us to.
